1) A 7 year old is brought into the office unexpectedly by his mother on a very buisy clinic day. He is coughing and wheezing. He has no known history of asthma, but frequently gets like this while playing soccer. You take a history, perform an exam, do a spirometry, check oximetry, and give him a nebulizer treatment. He is in moderate distress, so you frequently monitor oximetry. He needs a second albuterol nebulizer treatment and the nurse does teaching on use of the inhaler before his departure. How would you code this? |

5) 20 Year old healthy male comes in with a simple laceration of his arm. You suture it. How would you code this? Then 3 days later he decides he wants a mole removal. Do you need to do anything extra to be reimbursed since you are in the global period for the laceration repair? |

6) A 35 year old pregnant woman comes into your Urgent care department, which is part of the same practice where she sees her OB/GYN. She is vomitting and dehydrated. The baby is doing fine. She is rehydrated and remains with you for 2 hours. You document a total of 60 minutes face to face contact with her(not continuous). She recieves 2 liters of IV normal saline and finally goes home feeling much better. How would you code this, remembering she is in the pregnancy global period? |
